Sculpted Steel Dining Table signed Paul Evans 68

USA 1968

An early 1968 signed Paul Evans table or desk with glass top. The two large crescent-shaped bases are of patchwork polychromed welded steel with red, gold and blue-green patina and brazed brass decoration. Welded and brazed motifs are stars, swirls and geometric patterns as well as a large welded signature PE 1968. The decoration is random, asymmetric and artfully applied. Original oval glass top.

Beautiful hand painted dining table signed Mygge from France & Son. Single pedestal table with top lacquered in exuberant gold and cobalt flourishes on a predominantly green ground. Model number 630. Signed MYGGE within decoration, signed and numbered with France & Son label on underside.

The powerful physicality of this dramatic table is balanced by the tiles that cover the entire surface. Embossed in French in a playful font is a list of elements found in nature: light, bird, cloud, rose, morning, shore…  Quentin was a multi-disciplinary artist where text was often a central element. Quentin's work is in the same spirit and generation as Line Vautrin.

Smoked Mirror Dining Table by James Mont

USA 1963

With an antiqued smoke-mirror top and Chinoiserie fretwork carved apron, on a single fluted column pedestal with a Greek key base. Finished in antiqued gold metal leaf. Accompanied by a copy of the original concept drawing of the Orlowitz dining room signed by James Mont. Listed on Mont’s Contract Specifications provided by Mont to Mr. Orlowitz.
