Sculptural elements accented with gold leaf, polychrome in yellows, reds, blues and various patinated finishes to the steel with highly unusual orange polychrome. This console has a very rare finished back – This console can float in a room. Single slab of one inch thick, eight foot long cleft Pennsylvanian slate top. Interior in original red striated lacquer. Right side fitted original, suededadjustable shelves, left with one sueded adjustable shelf and a felted, divided drawer. Interior of doors of faceted welded steel decorated in red polychrome. Mounted on a welded steel base. Signed Paul Evans 1977. Sold with original bill of sale with sketching of the console.

Unique, one of a kind console table by Danilo Donati, c.1979. Made for the 1980 feature film "Flash Gordon" directed by Mike Hodges. Two time Academy Award winning Donati designed this sculptural console of brass, steel and travertine, with a half inch smoked glass top. The
console's angular legs and asymmetric design presages the Deconstructivist movement of the 80's and 90's. Donati was nominated for two BAFTA awards for his production and costume design for Flash Gordon. Signed with a label, "l'arte di DANILO DONATI"
