An Italian, 1940’s blown glass and brass fixture featuring a twisted glass cane lantern  with a large 17” glass canopy, hangs on glass cane rod with original small ceiling canopy.

A Hollywood Regency sofa, c 1940s.  It is upholstered in aubergine cotton velvet and has an accentuated serpentine back, upholstered scalloped apron and scroll arms.

Wanscher is one of the most highly-regarded and influential designers and educators in Denmark. Wanscher taught architecture at the illustrious Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen for nearly two decades. He guided the careers of many of the most import Danish designers and published many influential texts. Wanscher was influenced by sources as diverse as ancient Egypt, the Vienna Secession and the traditional Danish tradition of cabinet making.

Pair of Plaster Wall Torcheres by Serge Roche

A Pair of plaster wall torcheres by Serge Roche, c. 1940s.  These torcheres were designed to go against a wall and are palm tree forms on a “rock” base, finished in Roche’s iconic off-white plaster. Please note their sizes slightly vary but is unnoticeable.

The frame in bleached mahogany with a wide smoke and eglomise decorated border in gold scrolling acanthus leaves and shells. The narrow inner frame in rare gold mirror studded with pale grey square glass gem-stones.

In beautiful original condition with age appropriate wear.

Set of Four Mirrored Columns attrib to Maison Jansen

France, c. 1940

Magnificent set of four mirrored columns, from a hotel reputedly designed by Maison Jansen. Fit beautifully into corners, or mounted flush against a wall. Beautiful mounted with lighting and used as torchiers. Ochre gesso with silver leaf and antique mirror. Sold unwired.

Massive pair of baroque style scones. Silver gilt iron frames clad in cut crystal hold six candelabrum. Elaborately hung with cut glass prisms and teardrop prisms. Two pairs available.

Beautiful mahogany cabinet by Ole Wanscher, c.1940. Solid mahogany construction with original oiled finish. Two keyed doors over four keyed drawers offer incredible storage. Each side fitted with three adjustable shelves. All original brass hardware. Manufactured by A.J. Iversen. Documented in Grete Jalk, Dansk Møbelkunst Gennem 40 År, Copenhagen, 1987, Vol. 2, Pp. 170-171 for a similar example.

An early solid oak hand-carved and dovetailed bar by James Mont. Hardware in bronze and oak stamped James Mont designs. Interior mirrored and orange lacquered. Deep drawers for liquor and glasses. Top with glass shelves. Each drawer is hand-carved and hand-dovetailed. Incredible quality and attention to detail. Oak triple folding door front and sides are carved to look like folded fabric. Mont was known for creating lavish Prohibition era bars for Hollywood and Mafia royalty. All oak is white washed and bleached to a beautiful natural effect.

A elegantly proportioned compact executive desk by James Mont in green stained oak with bronze hardware, mounts and original leather top. Desk is in excellent original condition. The desk with nine drawers, four graduated on each side with center drawer. Bronze banding around desk, designed on all sides to float in a room. Burned in mark James Mont Designs in center drawer, each of the nine bronze pulls stamped James Mont Designs.

A single dramatic ceramic, wood, paper and carved plaster gold-leafed lamp by James Mont, New York.  The "antiqued and gilded" ceramic Asian figure sits on a carved and gilded wood base, the heavy paper shade has a ring of applied plaster that has been carved and the whole shade gold-leafed in 3" x 3" squares.

Original pulls and gilded wood tassels.

Needs new electric - overall excellent condition.
