All detailing is highlighted with silver leaf gilding. Seat in deep tufted grey silk velvet. Other finishes available, such as gold leaf or lacquer, to match upholstery. Custom Originals deliver in 4-6 weeks and can be ordered in quantities.

The table top in two large square sections of Pennsylvania slate framed in American Walnut rests on two one-of-a-kind sculpted bronze bases. The pierced bases though in Evan's signature sculpted bronze clearly show Powell's influence in their design. The table has two original leaves in walnut that insert into the center to create a impressive 9ft dining table. This table comes from the collection of George Fry a long-time Evans and Powell employee. Signed PE 69.

Incredibly rare sculpted bronze wall mounted bar by Paul Evans. Two semi circular doors form a 72" diameter disc concealing a bar with a single drawer and interior cabinet. Interior lacquered an extraordinary ochre. A magnificent example of Paul Evans' sculptural  work - a culmination of his artistic and technical skills. Fewer than 200 of these were ever produced.

Case and drawer fronts in mahogany, drawer interiors dovetailed in white oak. Made by Quigley. Chests purchased by previous owner from 1325 North Astor Street in Chicago. Provenance available. Each chest in excellent original condition, repolished.

Oversized Six Drawer Marble-Top Dresser by Grosfeld House in the manner of Syrie Maugham, USA, c. 1940s. A bleached mahogany marble-top console or dresser by Grosfeld House. This six drawer case piece features a serpentine bowed front with flaring cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet. The front is relief carved in large spiral patterns and bleached to perfection revealing the deep grain. The hardware is detailed cast bronze and the top consists of cream and pink breche marble cut to match the flairing shape of the case. Every aspect of this magnificent piece is custom made and successfully melds French 18th century elegance with crisp, 1940's modernism.

This loveseat anchored the now redesigned lobby of the Royalton Hotel and when it was installed in 1988 as a commission by hoteliers Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager the lobby was considered one of the finest hotel interiors in the world. The Royalton became the calling card of the young designer and was one of his most publicized interiors. The couch has the cast alluminum horn feet that were a motif for the lobby and was originally covered in a chalk white slipcover.

Set of Eight Signed Iridescent Ceramic Goblets by Beatrice Wood, USA, circa 1950's. Set of eight goblets in three sizes: 1 large, 4 medium and 3 small. Each piece is hand-glazed in brilliant, iridescent blues, greens, pinks and yellows. Each signed "Beato" on underside.

Wood's contemporaries included Marcel Duchamp, Henri-Pierre Roche and others associated with the Dada movement of the early 20th century, earning her the nickname "Mama of Dada".  Wood's ceramics are displayed in the permanent collections of 15 major U.S. museums, including the Smithsonian and New York's Museum of Modern Art.

Designed by Todd Merrill and created by hand using classic cabinet making techniques, this magnificent pair of bedside chests feature a solid oak dovetailed case covered in real eggshell using the ancient Japanese lacquerwork technique called Tamago No Kara lacquer.  The eggshell applied over a custom color lacquer base creates a calcified super hard surface accentuated with solid round brass pulls. As with all Custom Originals pieces these chests have been inspired by the great American designers of the late 20th century and are produced with the highest standards available. These chests are available by order in the dimensions as shown or in any custom size required.

Two-piece Omnibus Sectional Sofa by Vladimir Kagan, USA, c. 1975. Loose seat and back cushions filled with a down blend make these pieces exceptionally comfortable. Upholstered in the original Jack Lenor Larsen burnt-orange velvet. Sofas appear to float on Lucite plinths.  The 85” section has a completely curved back and the 106” section is at a 45 degree angle, forming a wide V-shape. Marked with manufacturers tags, "Vladimir Kagan Designs Inc." Similar example pictured in The Complete Kagan, page 167.  36”H x 27”D x 106”L and 36”H x 27”D x 85”L. Good Original condition.

Cast from an enormous clam shell, these resin sculptures retain all the texture and subtleties of the shell they were cast from. When lit from behind, the translucent quality of the resin diffuses the light for a glowing, dramatic effect. All three shells are identically shaped and textured with differences in color, one significantly darker than the other two. Surprisingly lightweight and fitted with hanging wires. A rare set of six Gazelle dining chairs by Dan Johnson, two arm and four side chairs, USA 1956. Each chair hand  wrought and finished of gold colored aluminum with caned seats and backs. The Gazelle line by Johnson was entirely hand made in Italy at Dan Johnson Studio. Due to extremely high production costs, and the intense hand labor involved, fewer than 150 pieces of the Gazelle line were ever completed. This set of six is a rare opportunity to acquire Johnson's elegant and expressive Gazelle chairs, model numbers 10A and 20A.

New York, Circa 1938 A set of three sofas designed by Tommi Parzinger for Lawrence Rockefeller circa 1938. The sofas all on curved mahogany saber legs, each with low back and tight upholstered seat and back with brass nail head trim. The leather new in “parzinger blue.” The sofas demonstrate Parzinger’s early design aesthetic described in a 1938 review in the New York Times as “simple forms, modern because they are reduced to their simplest element, but graceful because of the delicately curved lines.” These sofas from the Rockefeller home in Tarrytown, New York are documented with Parzinger vanity and chair from the same period. The sofas all in perfect restored condition, one settee is a custom replica.
