Conical base is hand chipped out of Walnut and reveals a gold leafed and recessed apron. Slate top is held by four hand-carved and morticed struts. The original top is unlaquered 1' thick Pennsylvania slate and has elegant rounded corners.

Round Low Occaisonal Table by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne. USA, c. 1950s. A gorgeous and delicate low occaisonal table in a "Japonaise" style. A cerulean Japanese vase and bowl with flowers adorn the table top. The table top motif and the natural patina in the brass were created with a secret and closely guarded LaVerne chemical etch formula. The three table legs are comprised of intertwining brass bars.
Low Table by George Nakashima in English Walnut, USA, c. 1970s. A wonderful example of Nakashima's craftsmanship and deference to form. This low occaisonal or coffee table uses a single slender slab of Walnut with a deep serpentine grain. Typical of Nakashima the form of the bench carefully parrallels the grain patterning giving way to a large oval shaped knot at the wider end. A single Rosewood Butterfly adorns the narrow end.

Cathedral Table by Silas Seandel

An early example of Seandel's Cathedral Table he started producing around 1975. The brass/bronze base consists of cylinder shapes welded together in the cylinder shapes of varying heights. Seandel then deftly manipulates his welding torch to create the rough look on the edges.
