A fiberglass version of Dickinson’s iconic white plaster, animalistic pieces; however, this console was produced by an East Coast company for Dickinson and was used as a display piece for a window at New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue. While Dickinson was not actually involved the production, because he hated to travel, these types of pieces were produced using his animal form leg design and stark white coloring with his approval.

An excellent studio piece, this console has four unique massive welded steel doors – boldly decorated with Evans signature abstract sculptural elements. Sculptural elements accented with gold leaf, polychrome in yellows, reds, blues and various patinated finishes to the steel. Single slab of one inch thick, eight foot long cleft Pennsylvanian slate top. Interior in original red striated lacquer. Right side fitted with an original, felt lined adjustable shelf. Interior of doors of faceted welded steel decorated in red polychrome. Mounted on a welded steel base. Signed Paul Evans 1968.
