Wall mounted silver leaf console by Phillip Lloyd Powell, c. 1955.  The console has a sanded slate top, three drawers and is finished in silver leaf brick pattern over a vibrant Robin’s egg blue.  Each felt-lined drawer is divided by five removable wooden slats. The console is mounted on two silver leaf, hand-chipped oak supports. 7" H (console) (15.25"H with supports) X 95.75W X 19.5D. Excellent restored condition.

Wanscher is one of the most highly-regarded and influential designers and educators in Denmark. Wanscher taught architecture at the illustrious Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen for nearly two decades. He guided the careers of many of the most import Danish designers and published many influential texts. Wanscher was influenced by sources as diverse as ancient Egypt, the Vienna Secession and the traditional Danish tradition of cabinet making.

A Wall hung walnut cabinet by Phillip Lloyd Powell, 1966.  The cabinet comprises a dove tail case and four bi-fold doors, the interior is finished in a copper green stain. Dorsey Reading reportedly traded this cabinet from Powell for forty hours of work.

A White painted fiberglass wall mounted console by John Dickinson

USA c. 1970

A fiberglass version of Dickinson’s iconic white plaster, animalistic pieces; however, this console was produced by an East Coast company for Dickinson and was used as a display piece for a window at New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue.  While Dickinson was not actually involved the production, because he hated to travel, these types of pieces were produced using his animal form leg design and stark white coloring with his approval.

An excellent studio piece, this console has four unique massive welded steel doors – boldly decorated with Evans signature abstract sculptural elements. Sculptural elements accented with gold leaf, polychrome in yellows, reds, blues and various patinated finishes to the steel. Single slab of one inch thick, eight foot long cleft Pennsylvanian slate top. Interior in original red striated lacquer. Right side fitted with an original, felt lined adjustable shelf. Interior of doors of faceted welded steel decorated in red polychrome. Mounted on a welded steel base. Signed Paul Evans 1968.
