Magnificent, one of a kind console by Gio Ponti. Nearly nine feet in length, crafted of cherry, with red marble top. Tapering legs end in nickled brass sabot. Glass shelf runs the entire length of the console. Made by Ponti’s master craftsman Giordano Chiesa. Authenticated by the Gio Ponti Archives, sold with certificate of authenticity.

In excellent original condition this dramatic entrance or foyer cabinet epitomizes the dark elegance of designer James Mont. A tall slender single door cabinet with adjustable shelves in ebonized and cerused oak features a lit glass-top that up-lights a heavily smoked scalloped wall-mounted mirror. The effect is pure drama that only Mont could create – works beautifully in a very small space.
A Smoked mirrored console by James Mont, c 1950s, features hand carved Caryatid side supports and scrolled pulls. The cabinet has a wide inverted V-shaped front with two caryatid supports on either end, two doors that open to cabinets with adjustable shelves.Smoked mirror top, side and doors are framed in Mont’s signature patinated silver leaf finish over maroon and black.
Wanscher is one of the most highly-regarded and influential designers and educators in Denmark. Wanscher taught architecture at the illustrious Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen for nearly two decades. He guided the careers of many of the most import Danish designers and published many influential texts. Wanscher was influenced by sources as diverse as ancient Egypt, the Vienna Secession and the traditional Danish tradition of cabinet making.

A Wall mounted silver leaf console by Phillip Lloyd Powell, c 1955.The console has a slate top, three drawers and is finished in silver leaf brick pattern over Robin’s egg blue.Each drawer comprises five removable wooden slats that make six compartments, with felt on the bottom of each drawer. The console is mounted on two hand-chipped oak supports.

A rare Sculpture Front Console signed Paul Evans, 1977. This console has four unique massive welded steel doors – boldly decorated with Evans signature abstract sculptural elements. Sculptural elements accented with gold leaf, polychrome in yellows, reds, blues and various patinated finishes to the steel with highly unusual orange polychrome. This console has a very rare finished back – This console can float in a room. Single slab of one inch thick, eight foot long cleft Pennsylvanian slate top. Interior in original red striated lacquer. Right side fitted original, suededadjustable shelves, left with one sueded adjustable shelf and a felted, divided drawer. Interior of doors of faceted welded steel decorated in red polychrome. Mounted on a welded steel base. Signed Paul Evans 1977. Sold with original bill of sale with sketching of the console.

Serving Cabinet / Bar by Phillip Lloyd Powell USA c. 1960 With this grand towering cabinet Powell showcases many of his talents and signature finishing. He always honors the irregularities of the wood, in this case Walnut-one of his favorites, which results in sinuous lines and dramatic swirls. The interior and sides are painted in a silver leaf faux subway tile motif above a gentle aquatic green base. Beautiful mahogany cabinet by Ole Wanscher, c.1940. Solid mahogany construction with original oiled finish. Two keyed doors over four keyed drawers offer incredible storage. Each side fitted with three adjustable shelves. All original brass hardware. Manufactured by A.J. Iversen. Documented in Grete Jalk, Dansk Møbelkunst Gennem 40 År, Copenhagen, 1987, Vol. 2, Pp. 170-171 for a similar example.

Unique, one of a kind console table by Danilo Donati, c.1979. Made for the 1980 feature film "Flash Gordon" directed by Mike Hodges. Two time Academy Award winning Donati designed this sculptural console of brass, steel and travertine, with a half inch smoked glass top. The
console's angular legs and asymmetric design presages the Deconstructivist movement of the 80's and 90's. Donati was nominated for two BAFTA awards for his production and costume design for Flash Gordon. Signed with a label, "l'arte di DANILO DONATI"

Stunning pair of gold mirror tiled vitrines. Gold mirror tiles made of striated and bubble glass cover the sides of these vitrines. Bronze, lockable cases have two glass shelves each. Two wall mounted cases and two freestanding cases available. Freestanding cabinets have black glass tops. Incredible craftsmanship.
